Geology

Geology is an integral and vital part of the environmental related research in which CUGRI specialises. Besides the cooperation with other groups, an new and original sector is related to radiation related hazards, and in particular to the presence of Radon in the athmosphere.

Following a  contract for the Campania Regional Authority, Prof. Domenico Guida and Prof. Michele Guida have carried out research work of general interest.

 Radon related risk analysis is leads  to the production  of large area , site and  indoor thematic maps of  “Radon Prone Areas”, which are calibrated by monitoring concentration and by fitting appropriate exposure models
